September 21, 1938 – September 29, 2025

Frances Drummond Brown, 87, went peacefully to be with Jesus on September 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was born in Myrtle Grove, Florida on September 21, 1938. She was raised in the Pensacola and Ensley area, attended schools in Escambia County and graduated from James M. Tate High School in 1956. After raising her family with her first husband, Naval Aviator Everett W. Holland, Frances returned to work and was a valued employee at the Dulles Marriott Accounting Office in Virginia, then later at Callahan and Associates in Fairhope, Alabama. Most recently she was the Records Supervisor at the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office in Milton, Florida. She retired after working there for 25 years.

As a young mother, she was a Girl Scout and a Boy Scout Troop Leader, as well as a mom who could be counted on to attend school field trips, organize class parties and volunteer in the classroom.

Frances was very creative and loved sewing, needle-work, cooking, baking and gardening. She spent many happy hours working in her yard and in her greenhouse. Her interests and hobbies were an inspiration to generations of her descendants who learned from her example.

Frances met Jerry (Bo) Brown while living in Milton and they were married in 2001. They spent many happy years traveling and spending time with family and loved ones. Some of their happiest times were spent at the beach with the many friends they made there.

Her friends and family were deeply important to her and she always stayed in touch with them through the years. Frances was known for her beautiful smile and ability to make everyone feel important, valued and special. She never met a stranger and enjoyed organizing Family Reunions and High School Reunions, where she was always the one taking photos to preserve the happy memories. One of her greatest joys was being “Granna” to her beloved granddaughters and great granddaughters.

Frances was preceded in death by her father, Robert R. Drummond, Sr.; her mother, Louise Shelby Drummond; three brothers, Robert R. Drummond, Jr., Charles C. Drummond, Thomas L. Drummond; two sisters, Linda Drummond Bush, Beverly Drummond.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jerry (Bo) Brown; daughter, Becky (Kirk) Holland Hall; son, Mark (Mary Kate) Holland; two granddaughters, Ashley (Clinton) Hall Harrison, Caroline (Brandon) Hall Breslin; two great-granddaughters, Kathryn Breslin, Madison Breslin; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
